Katana Liebelt is a freelance writer and editor. Her published articles focus on education, children’s literature, and hiring practices. As a first-generation student, she earned her Associate’s at Chemeketa Community College. Transferring to Northwest University, she earned her Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in English and Communications Studies (Media & Society). She customized her degree to pursue a career in writing and editing.
Throughout Liebelt’s college career, she has published 10 articles to 4 school websites. She has written several more unpublished essays, articles, and stories. Furthermore, she discovered her love for editing. Specifically, she enjoys understanding the system behind word choices, parts of speech, and punctuation. Although she can write about or edit various topics, her niches include secondary education, children’s literature, entertainment, and human interest.
As a child, Liebelt wanted to write and illustrate children’s books. While she holds onto this dream, she now aspires to write content for organizations or companies that align with her Christian Conservative values. As a Christian, she believes God sent His son Jesus to die for mankind’s sins (John 3:16). Thus, putting faith in Jesus, not morality, gets you to heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). As a Conservative, Liebelt believes every life at every stage matters. She supports God’s design for marriage, gender, and sexuality.
